CONFLUENCE
Aug. 7th, 2010 02:48 amSince we're nearly two weeks past it now, it's high time I posted about Confluence, Pittsburgh's general science-fiction convention and one of the few Absolute Musts on my calendar this year.
As usual, a fine weekend; as usual, I rarely made it out of the filk track, due to the usual thorough and somewhat insane level of work put in by
mrgoodwraith in assembling a compelling and diverse lineup of concerts. (I *did* make it to PARSEC's play, an Avatar-nativity farce, which may have held my interest more had I not been one of the five or six people who didn't see Avatar; and I did get to part of Wen Spencer's GOH speech. Otherwise, Confluence to me is essentially a filkcon that also has good literary and science tracks. (Next year, with one of my favorite currently active authors as the author GOH, I might stray from the filkroom a bit more often.
