THE SEVEN-HOUR TWITCH
Jun. 10th, 2007 05:13 pmStrange, this: My left thumb has been intermittently-steadily doing an ever-so-slight involuntary twitch all day. I've had muscle spasms before, but they were usually over in a minute or so, not to return for weeks or so.
I'm not all that concerned about it and would probably pay it little heed, but last night I ran into a friend and former colleague who took early retirement due to Parkinson's disease. So that's rattling around in my brain. (There's no real family history of it as far as I know -- my uncle who had it wasn't a blood relative.) This, however, is likely nothing. In fact, it may all be in my head; I may be unconsciously making myself spasm because I think I'm going to spasm. Or something like that.
Brains are weird. And yummy, if you're a zombie.
In other news, the Canandaigua iteration of the Relay for Life raised more than $53,000 toward cancer research, preventive education, palliative care, etc. Yay! Made it worth being out on the track for 12 hours -- actually more like 10, since we evacuated during Friday evening's thunderstorm. My feet are still miffed at me, but they'll get over it.
Sounds & Images: Just watched a most unfortunate Yankees-Pirates game (NY 13, Pitt 6). Sigh.
State O'Mind: Quizzical
