TIME AND RELATIVE DIMENSIONS, ETC.
Dec. 9th, 2006 02:23 amI often consider dispensing with cable TV, or just downsizing to Basic, in order to save a few bucks a month. I don't watch much television in general (my occasional posts about insipid stuff I've found while channelsurfing notwithstanding), and most of what I do watch tends to be on network. So about once a week I give serious thought to calling up the cable company and downscaling.
And then. And then: About once a week the Sci-Fi Channel offers something like tonight's Dr. Who. Or last week's Battlestar Galactica. And I'm foiled again.
(I'm not all that emotional a sort, and very rarely does a book, film or television show make me well up. Tonight's Who indeed brought me to the point of tears. Never thought I'd say that about Dr. Who ... Plus, I'll never be able to listen to ELO's "Don't Bring Me Down" the same way again.)
