Well, that's two straight nights that I haven't managed to exit the office until after 1 a.m. Then again, it was to be expected: The days after a long weekend away are usually long because I've lost the usual momentum; plus we have one editor out on vacation and another out on personal leave (death in the family), and my usual page-design colleague has been abducted by the Web-site-revamp crew.

Which means no lengthy post tonight -- the remainder of my FKO ramblings, along with answering comments, will be put off until Thursday. Suffice it to say: Many a fine concert. Quite a fine concom.

A couple highlights of that Friday circle I forgot the mention: Hearing [livejournal.com profile] gorgeousgary sing my favorite among his repertoire, the Iditarod song (is that his own?); and hearing [livejournal.com profile] almeda sing [livejournal.com profile] peteralway's "A Manly Song." Peter wasn't in the room at the time; I told him later about it and it seemed to cause much amusement.

In other news, I wish I thought Tom DeLay's departure will reduce the proportion of Hawkish, Ruthless Ideologues in Congress, but I suspect the effect will be minimal. Of course, I am the president and charter member of the Coalition to Keep Politics Out of Government, so take my utterances with a grain of salt and a pinch of cilantro.

In still other news, I love that there's a professional baseball player named "Coco Crisp." And that he's on the Red Sox.

That is all.

OK, since it's Thursday afternoon now, the remainder of my FKO rundown will be brief and scattershot and subject to memory sinkholes. This will be even more longwinded than the last one, hence the cut.
